MIL’s in town this week May 20, 2010

My mother in law offered to watch the girls for us while we went shopping and out to eat. I’d like to say that after we left I only thought of the girls, but in reality I was just wondering how many hours of sleep Dave and I could get before someone interrupted us if we checked into a hotel under fake names and turned off our cell phones.

I’m guessing at least eight.

Having my mother-in-law here also means I got to take a shower without having to peek out to make sure Alice wasn’t shoving toys in the toilet and that Violet was still sleeping in her car seat on the floor. It means someone else could jump in when Alice started having a breakdown, and someone else remembered to turn the dryer on for me. In other words, three days from now I’m going to feel really overwhelmed again. AWESOME.
