Topics I’m not equipped to cover on so little sleep May 11, 2010

Posted by Erin F. Wasinger in Being a mama.

“Baby,” Alice said, pointing to my stomach.

“No, the baby’s not in there anymore,” I said — nicely, I swear. “Now it just looks like Mama has a baby in her belly.”

“Because I just had a baby. Remember? Violet was in Mama’s belly.”

“I don’t think I’m prepared to talk about this with you now.”

“Ask me when you’re older.”

“What time is it, is Elmo on? Let’s go watch Elmo.”

Way to deflect.

2. CaptainNeeda - May 18, 2010

Today I had something in my shirt so it wouldn’t get wet while she was dumping water on me (fun) and she pointed to the bulge and said “Is your diaper full?”

3. Alisa - May 21, 2010

This makes me think of the heavy side:

Corrie Ten Boom asked her father, while on a train ride what “sex sin” was.

His response? “Pick up this suitcase”

“I can’t. It’s too heavy.”

“Some things are too heavy for you to carry right now. You let ME carry them for now.”

The book is “The Hiding Place”

Not light reading.
