Alice, Violet. Violet, Alice. April 29, 2010

So after a night, Alice finally got to meet her little sister. She stayed the night with our friends (her first sleepover) and apparently ate a “Hungry Man” sized dinner. She didn’t even come to me when I went to pick her up. Instead stayed fixated on that furry red monster on the television. Anyway, after a quick stop at home to let Mr. Big stretch his legs, we headed to the hospital.

There Alice surpassed even our greatest expectations. You see, Alice is shy and doesn’t usually do well with new things. But damn, did she ever with Violet.

After first running in to Erin yelling “Mommy!” she saw Violet and yelled out “Baby! Hi Baby!” and immediately wanted up on the bed with Erin and Violet, to which she has stayed most of the time so far — outside of about 15 minutes when I returned to the room with my breakfast. Seriously, she is never not hungry.

The trio is now watching Cinderella and everyone is doing great. And thanks to cable, Alice has plenty of dog, animal and dinosaur shows to keep her occupied.

I’m the rest of their lives will be as great and happy too. Never will these sisters fight when things got off to such a good start, right?

After my niece was born, my nephew would constantly get up into her face with greetings of “Hi Baby! Hi Baby!” Now, two years later, she will sit as close as possible to him, continually inching closer as he inches away, until she finally gets up and sits on him. We think this is her method of revenge.

I’ve seen a lot of my friend’s post-birthing pictures and you are positively the healthiest, least tired-looking mother I have seen. I know you don’t feel that way,…just sayin’. You look great! 🙂
