(Ok, folks, Dave here. I’ll be updating you throughout the day on all the happenings at Birth Room Beta. Please note that anything posted during the day may or may not contain any semblance of the truth or real facts. But you’ll be able to figure those parts out.)

Update 7:32 — Ok, sorry for the lack of updates. Things were kinda moving along ya know. And nobody likes a guy who tweets or updates a blog while his wife is pushing. But another update is coming soon.

Update 3:45 — Rest. The Verve was way wrong when they said that “The Drugs Don’t Work.” They are working wonderfully. And me? I’m just trying to stay out of the way. But the anesthesiologist did agree that a big, manly dog should be coming my way too. Being outnumbered 3-1 isn’t going to be fun.

Update 3:15 — We are now full of drugs, but pain free. Score one for science! (And by we, I meant Erin. I learned my lesson during D.A.R.E classes.)

Update 2:15 — Can anyone say Pitocin? Well we can and Erin is no longer in a smiling mood. Must remember time for jokes is quickly passing.

Update 12:54 — Waiting on lunch of chicken broth and Jell-O (sensing a theme here?) for Erin. Not too much happening. I got to go home to let the dog out and eat a lunch of leftovers. Outside feels much better than the 70+ they are keeping the rooms. Seriously kid, anytime now.

Update 10:56 — No new updates. More laps. Erin gets more Jell-O. I get chips and a muffin from the cafe. And coffee. Finally. My hopes of being through everything at noon might not materialize. So it looks as if I’ll have to wait a bit longer to see if the e-card that Erin sent me is true.

Update 8:47 — We just finished about 25 laps around the maternity ward. No new progress updates, outside of Erin being able to eat her Jell-O and drink her wonderfully delicious chicken broth. That she got on a tray with orange sherbet and apple juice and grape juice. All this while I wait and melt away with no new coffee in over an hour. Seriously, the room service here …….

Update 7:24 — Alright, we’re in and situated. The hospital is just as I remember it and walking through the hallways brought back flashbacks with Alice. Oh, the horror! Erin is going through a Q&A with the nurse and she designated me a “support person.” Which means I’ll have to do something more than just sitting here, updating blogs and watching marathons of Man vs. Food. Dang. If you are the Twittering kind I’ll be posting quick updates there too. And I’ll try to remember using a hashtag (#wasingerbabybirth) if you want to do a search & follow for that. I’ll check back in, in a bit.

I’d say that I’ll send Briscoe up anytime, but I think I’d also have to make arrangements for Erin to leave the house at the same time!!! 🙂
