Yeah, about that mess … July 11, 2008

It just occurred to me that maybe I should’ve cleaned before my dad, his wife, their three kids and my grandpa came over this morning.
Looking at my carpet that needs vacuumed, the dusty furniture and the toothpaste on the bathroom sink, I guess this shouldn’t have been the surprise that it was about 10 minutes ago. And now it’s a “well, I could clean, but then I couldn’t shower” situation.
Shampoo wins, every time, I find.
I also guess I could stop blogging and go DO that, but who wants to scrub the toilet at 6:30 a.m.? I’ll just tell them not to lick anything.
I sometimes pretend that my family will not notice that I lose approximately 38 million strands of nearly black hair (which shows up really nicely on my off white bathroom floor) per day. If it’s any help, they don’t ever say anything, which in my book means they don’t notice it. And I don’t have a child.
I think you have a good excuse.
Enjoy your family time. I know you need it.
